A food handlers card is used as an official document to show you’ve completed a state-approved food handler course. If you’re from another state outside of Texas, you may know this as a food handlers permit, food handlers license, or food safety certificate. All food handlers in Texas are required to have a food handler card within 60 days of being hired.
